Neighbourhood

If you're looking to stay in Henley, you probably already know why you're coming, as Henley is famous for its annual Royal Regatta and Festival, which attracts visitors from around the world. The town also offers a variety of activities such as riverboat trips along the Thames, punting, and rowing. The River and Rowing Museum is a must-see attraction, providing an interesting insight into the history of the town and the river. In addition to walks along the river, Henley is also near to several beautiful parks and gardens such as Stonor Park and Greys Court Gardens . For art lovers, the River & Rowing Museum hosts regular exhibitions and there are numerous galleries in Henley. There are many charming pubs and restaurants to choose from, which offer local and international cuisine, such as The Angel on the Bridge, The Bull on Bell Street, The Catherine Wheel, The French Horn and the Red Lion. There is a Starbucks and Cote almost opposite the entrance the mews. The town also has a selection of independent boutiques and shops.

If you don't know the town, this YouTube video gives a great little tour of the centre (and the entrance to the mews is directly behind the YouTube logo on the cover photo below!).

Transport

Parking

As the Mews House is just off the main high street, parking is difficult. You can unload at the end of the mews, but then you'll need to move your car. Greys Road car park is a short walk away, but you are limited to 3 hours during the day (which currently costs £2.40). There is a long stay car park at Henley train station (£6 per day) or Southfields long stay car park off Goodall Close (£4.40 per day) - both are about 10 mins walk away. You will need to pay for this parking onsite. If you would like free road parking, there is some at the end of Greys Road up the hill and on St Marks Road and St Andrews Road.

Taxis

There is a taxi rank just outside the mews.

For pre-bookings, and airport transfers, we recommend County Cars. See: https://countycarshenley.co.uk/ or call 01491 579696

Trains

Henley is easily accessible by train, and the station is an gentle 10 minute walk from the Mews.
